What People Say to Me

I'm so thankful that we found MCYR. My son is in 6th grade and has tried a few different sports but never felt like he was passionate about them. Rowing has been such a huge boost to his confidence and overall happiness. He looks forward to going to every single practice and regatta. The kids are so kind and caring. Sometimes older kids don't want to be around younger kids, but it was the complete opposite here. The High schoolers took him under their wing and have been so supportive all season. The coaches are amazing and truly care about the children. My son has transformed in front of my eyes in the last few months, he really loves this sport. The boathouse is a great facility and very safe. I would absolutely recommend to anyone that their child should try rowing with MCYR. Great exercise, awesome friendships and overall amazing community to be part of!

I signed Kaiden up for rowing on a whim as a means to occupy his time when he started driving earlier this year. MCYR was close to home and felt like a last ditch effort to provide him with an opportunity to make the most of the physical abilities of his youth while I still have some influence. I am so thankful to share that joining the team has exceeded all of our expectations greatly and changed Kaiden’s life in so many positive ways. Like many rowers, Kaiden had tried a little bit of everything extracurricular prior to rowing, but nothing stuck. I am filled with endless gratitude for the sport, the team, the MCYR coaches, the MCYR families, and the organization for bringing Kaiden a little bit of everything that he needed to truly thrive in this season of life - physical fitness, time outdoors, proper nutrition, sturdy leaders, great friendships, and passion for something greater than himself.

Our daughter started rowing in the 8th grade after moving to FL from NJ. The program teaches kids about perseverance, teamwork, responsibility and accountability. It's a great activity to push their physical and mental boundaries. It is a team effort and the team genuinely likes and cares for one another.  They are creating lasting friendships and memories.  It's amazing to see where they start and the progress they make.
